I decided to try going back because despite having dd-wrt all configured and working, even the config backed up, when I unplugged the device to move it to the area I keep all my IT equipment in, something went wrong. Pretty much the last thing I have to do is make sure it's not accessible from the outside, at least until I want to configure a single way in via VPN or something. I can see lots of advice on this but I can't find something that gives me a sure fire way of making sure I've locked it down well.
